Rangitikei District

Rangitīkei is the home of Bulls, the town that built an entire personality out of puns, and Taihape, which throws gumboots for sport and means it. Somewhere between the laughs it’s a big, handsome stretch of rural country running up into the hills.

This is sheep and cattle land, river gorges and small towns, with the main road north threading through the middle of it. It’s affordable, it’s unhurried, and it has more roadside signage gags than any district has a right to. For space and a slower life, it delivers without the price tag.
