Southland District is the vast, wild bottom of the map: Fiordland and Milford Sound, Te Anau and Manapouri, Stewart Island off the very end, and Bluff oysters keeping the whole place fed. It’s huge, it’s empty, and the scenery does not muck about.

This is farming country wrapped around some of the most spectacular wilderness in the world.
