All Suburbs by Livability

5,812 suburbs across 67 districts, ranked by livability score

Districts give you the lay of the land. Suburbs are where the wheels actually meet the road, and where you’ll be doing the school run, queuing at Pak’nSave on a Saturday, and quietly judging the neighbours’ renovations.

This is the long list. Every suburb with a page, gathered up and ranked by livability score. That number next to each name is our 0-to-100 read on the things people quietly weigh up when they’re picking a place to live: schools, safety, housing, transport, green space and a couple of others. Higher is better.

It is not the law. A 78 doesn’t tell you if the local cafe does a decent flat white, or whether your kids would actually walk to that school, or whether you’d be happy an hour from your parents. What it does give you is a defensible starting point, instead of guessing or going off whichever suburb your colleague keeps banging on about.

Suburbs are grouped by district so you can see how the same patch stacks up before zooming out. Tap a district, scroll the list, pick a name. You’ll get the full read: who lives there, what a house costs, how the schools rate, and what the locals reckon.

Pick a corner of the country and have a proper look around.
